Head of People & Values (Porto, Portugal)

About Your Role

The Head of People & Values (P&V) works closely with the CEO and is the one person everyone turns to for the key strategies, policies, processes and social activities related to people and culture at Veniam, including people administrative operations, team well-being, organizational planning, recruitment, onboarding, engagement, team-building, career management, performance evaluation, leadership development, coaching programs, and mentoring relationships. Based in Porto and reporting to the CEO, you will lead the team that designs and implements exciting programs for our whole team world-wide.

As Head of P&V, you will further be accountable for providing vital data and context information to support the decisions of our management team as well as the healthy and sustainable scale-up of our company. You will be responsible for building, communicating and advising on P&V metrics and success indicators that play a crucial role in strategy and decision-making.

You shall be an ambassador of our Culture and Values, leading the consolidation of a healthy and positive working environment defined by exceptional levels of well-being, engagement, motivation and performance. Primary Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the CEO to design and implement P&V strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy;
  • Develop and monitor all people management strategies, systems, tactics and procedures across all teams;
  • Oversee and actively contribute to the quality of human resources (HR) administration, including payroll, employment contracts and records, onboarding and offboarding processes, legal compliance, benefits administration, and other local processes and procedures;
  • Contribute as a knowledgeable resource to the executive management team, by gathering, analyzing and presenting P&V metrics and information to support decision-making;
  • Build, develop and lead the P&V team as a shining example of Veniam’s Culture and Core Values;
  • Bridge management and employee relations by addressing engagement, motivation, and retention;
  • Oversee  the recruitment and selection process and guide the Talent Acquisition Specialists towards success;
  • Define and implement career plans, methods for performance appraisal and annual training programs.

Technical Requirements

  • Proven experience in a similar role, preferably within the tech industry and in a high-growth company;
  • Solid knowledge and experience in people administrative processes, employment law, compensation, organizational planning and development, recruitment, and employee relations, engagement, and development;
  • Extensive understanding of worldwide trends in people management;
  • Organized, dynamic and results-oriented;
  • Leadership and coaching skills;
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Proficiency in English, both written and spoken (eliminatory - only applications submitted fully in English will be considered).

Qualifications and Other Requirements

  • BS/MA degree in a relevant field, such as Human Resources or Business Administration;
  • 5 - 10 years experience in people management, HR or similar, preferably in high-growth startups.
